The people behind the studio

Composer and Full Professor of Electroacoustic Composition at Unesp. He holds a degree in Composition from the University of São Paulo, a master's degree in Elektronische Komposition from the Musikhochschule Köln (Germany) and a doctorate in Arts et Sciences de la Musique from the Université de Liège (Belgium). He has taught as Visiting Professor at European and North American institutions, with emphasis on electroacoustic composition and contemporary musical composition. In 1994 he founded Studio PANaroma at Unesp, where he serves as Artistic Director, and in 2002 he created PUTS — PANaroma/Unesp Teatro Sonoro, the first loudspeaker orchestra in Brazil.

Composer and performer, Assistant Professor of Composition at Studio PANaroma, Department of Music of the Institute of Arts at Unesp. He leads the research group SOMNIUM — Studies in Electroacoustic Music and coordinates the Mix Outreach Project. His work spans acousmatic composition, computer-assisted composition, musical semiotics, multichannel spatialization and music technology. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Unesp, supervised by the composer Flo Menezes, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Performer-Composer program at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). He has won first prize in international electroacoustic composition competitions, among them Música Viva, Destellos, Prix Métamorphoses, MusicWorks and Musica Nova, as well as honorable mentions at ISAC and MA/IN Matera Intermedia. He is co-curator and music coordinator of the T-SON concert series.

Composer and sound engineer at Studio PANaroma, with a bachelor's degree in Musical Composition from the Institute of Arts at Unesp, where he is currently a direct-entry doctoral candidate. His works have been selected and performed at festivals and biennials in Brazil and abroad, among them the São Paulo International Electroacoustic Music Biennial (BIMESP), the Funarte Biennial of Contemporary Brazilian Music and the Atemporánea (Argentina) and Plurisons festivals. He was a finalist in the international competition of the Mayflower Art Center (Massachusetts) and took second place in the orchestral composition competition of Gramado in Concert. His doctoral research lies at the intersection of Composition and Musical Analysis, in dialogue with Information Theory, Linguistics, Music Cognition and Psychology, and Acoustics.
